The first time I ever used a JSJ bait was during a tournament on Clear Lake, CA. My partner and I came into an area with numerous bass chasing bait to the surface. I threw out several topwaters with no success. Frustration set in as I dug through my box of baits and couldn’t find any that imitated the bait we were seeing crushed by bass all around us. Finally, my partner gave me a JSJ snack size chartreuse shad he had purchased the day before. On my first cast as I was learning the action of the bait I was crushed by one of the feeding bass a 9.92 monster. We ended up catching our two big fish on the bait, the 9.92 and a 6, and won the tournament with a limit just under 25lbs. I immediately fell in love with the bait.
Only three weeks later I fished a “swimbait only” tournament with Josh St. John and finished third with the same bait. We all know swimbaits can be pricey, but a good bait that is well made will produce fish over and over again and may just pay for itself in a tournament situation.
Thanks for making great baits Josh.

I'll never forget the first day I got my hands on a Snack Size trout... It was a perfect Clearlake morning, I was catching fish on a variety of baits but it was "chuck and wind" fishing. Even though it was producing it just wasn't that fun. When I got my hands on the snack size and saw how aggressively you worked it with rips, jerks, and pops, it all clicked! The bites were EXPLOSIVE and I was hooked! Throughout the morning and into the afternoon your bait altered the way I throw big baits forever. You've put fun back in big bait fishing!

I’ve been using Josh’s baits for a few years now and I know that when I’m looking for that one big bite in tough conditions I can count on one of my JSJ baits to come through. They act almost like a finesse swimbait coaxing those finicky bass from hiding. Not only do they catch monster bass they are amazing works alone. In fact I just got one of the new Dirty Birds and was blown away by the artisan craftsmanship that has gone into this lure. Now all I’m waiting for is the right time and bring on the donkeys.
